From my earliest days I knew one thing above all else: I had to study the Bible.
Armed with nothing but a youth ministry manual from the 1960's and a vision I launched a youth group at the age of 17.
After graduating from high school I immediately enrolled in Evangel University in Springfield, MO. It was here that I began to learn and develop the intellectual approach to Christianity that characterizes my ministry today. In fact, I fell so deeply in love with the study of the scriptures that I picked up an additional degree in Biblical Languages-eventually taking three years each of Greek and Hebrew.
After marrying the love of my life I graduated in 2008 and we moved to Cleveland, OH,
Inspired by the missional movement and the writings of Michael Frost and Alan Hirsh- and thirsting for another adventure we moved into the city and launched Agape: Gallery for Good
a non-profit art gallery in the Tremont district of Cleveland were I became a pastor and art curator of all things. It was here that I began to really sharpen my skills as a Biblical Communicator.
Working in the inner city of Cleveland brought me into contact with prostitutes, drug dealers, addicts, and the homeless.
It was during this time that I really began to recognize the connection between theology and practice.
If the church has the right belief the right actions will follow. But in a pluralistic society the right belief is not always apparent.
As such, it has become my mission in goal and life to connect the academy and the church for the benefit for both institutions.
This is the driving force behind all that I do.
